What does a friend do?

PRAYER FOR MY FRIEND

Today I prayed for you, my friend,
Your tribulation soon to end.
By lifting hands to Him I plea
To be healed by His victory.
I ask that if any, tears be few
While He bestows your health anew.

Sometimes we think He doesn't care
By giving us a cross to bear.
We question why He would allow
Our suffering; yet it makes us bow
Then persevere on paths He's laid
To claim His truths which never fade.

When we accept His will-to-be,
We're disciplined for eternity.
For now, He carries you, my friend,
Soon ease and comfort will begin.
May bands of angels now surround.
I pray for peace that will abound.
God bless you knowing how I care
And daily lift your name in prayer.

What does a friend do?

I'LL BE HERE FOR YOU

I'll be here for you
Until the Good Lord clips the wings of time.
When the night falls hard and breaks your heart,
I'll dry the tears from your eyes.

When your little ship of dreams
Is about to be dashed against the rocks,
Let my open arms be a safe harbor;
A quiet place to talk.

When all hope grows dim,
I'll be a lantern in the storm,
And an awning where you find shelter,
'Til you're on your feet once more.

I'll see you keep your courage,
And that you continue to walk in Truth,
I'll stand in the gap, my friend,
In constant prayer for you.

I'll be here for you,
Albeit, by divine intervention,
This friendship we've come to share,
To me, is such a blessing.

No matter what comes to be,
Rest assured, I'll see you through;
For now and all eternity,
I'll be here for you.

What does praying do anyway?

No Time

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find.
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
