What does the Bible say about Praying

Pray in Private

Matt 6:5-6
5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I love this. I believe you shouldn't put your religion out there for everyone to see, to show off, be part of some group and make yourself look a certain way to people. I don't believe people who do that, nor do I even care to see it. I keep it very very personal. I know this was because of my upbringing. My relationship with G-D is more powerful because of it. In the end will the truth comes out.

It flat out says that prayer should be done in private - not in public (like in school, in a Court room, or before a baseball game). Anyone who argues for public prayer simply overlooks this blatantly simple biblical command.
